Falls Road vs. the Shankhill Road, 2013

Centered around an England vs. Ireland soccer game, the journalist experiments with the new Belfast by watching half the match at a Catholic pub and the next in a Protestant one. The article highlights that taxi drivers continue to stay relatively within their same districts, and that while the two communities are very alike, the community still continues to struggle with their divide. Flags are an important facet within the community as they are a way to announce who you are in terms of religion and/or politics. A fast read that helps to paint a small portrait of the city in more recent times.

In Northern Ireland, Getting Past the Troubles, 2009

This article is helpful in understanding the peace process in terms of the community. Many of the things needed for healing are themes of Gregg’s work: peace (like relationships) must be nurtured; time is needed for healing to take place; Belfast is a community in conflict resolution; and although reconciliation is possible particularly through dialogue- walls continue to be built as a form of protection. Rather than the walls coming down in Belfast, many continue to rely on them.

North Belfast: Work Begins On Removing Interface Wall, 2016

This is a very short article which focuses on the first peace wall to be dismantled. The Northern Ireland Housing Executive owns 21 peace wall location which speaks to the scope of physical barriers separating people within Belfast. In addition the article highlights that the wall coming down was the decision of community members who after years of talking are ready to unit their neighborhood once again.
